The Betrothal of ThirukalyanMatha

Our beloved Thirukalyana Matha was born to the parents of swaikin and Anne in the clan of David. It was proclaimed that those who came to court Thirukalyana Matha would bring a cane in their hands. Mother Mary was supposed to marry the one whose cane would blossom into flowers. Many kings, affluent people and landlords came to the betrothal function with canes made of gold and silver. They came by decorated cars drawn by horses wearing costly garments and ornaments.

The betrothal function started.

A man named Joseph also came to the function with a piece of white timber in his hand. Even his mother criticized him for his shabby appearance. What a surprise! His timber showed shoots of flowers. Marriage took place between Mother Mary and Joseph. But Mother Mary never lost her virginity.
